NeoVintage STR57

A love letter to the 1957 Stratocaster, re-engineered to be the one you reach for every day. Finished in a classic White Blonde paint sprayed over a lightweight swamp ash body with a period-correct mint pickguard. The guitar is paired with a comfortable 1960s carve neck for faster, more familiar playability. The thin nitro finish lets the wood resonate and age gracefully.

The Fender Stratocaster was first sold in late 1954. Over the next few years, the design was modified slightly including subtle changes to the body carve. Guitars were hand carved so there was no exact shape but by 1957 the body had a pronounced belly carve that merged into a deep arm carve to give a very sculpted effect. In later years, the amount of carve was gradually reduced, presumably for financial reasons, making the guitars appear more chunky. Our NeoVintage STR57 is based on a 1957 Stratocaster that had deep arm and belly carves giving it a very sleek appearance. The swamp ash used is light but highly resonant. Using Nitrocellulose based paints, the guitar has been lightly sealed and a white blonde semi-transulent colour applied allowing the countours of the grain to peek through.

Early Stratocaster necks tended to be thick. Some like a chunky neck but as the Stratocaster evolved, necks became slightly thinner. With this guitar, we have opted for a sleeker profile while keeping the tighter fretboard radius. The fretboards are made from Ebony or Rosewood and have our eccentric brass fretmarkers as standard.

Our NeoVintage 57STR guitar uses high quality hardware made by Gotoh including a vintage style tremolo with a steel block. The vintage style machine heads are also made by Gotoh. The headstock is thinner than a standard Stratocaster style guitar facilitating a steeper break angle behind the nut. Pickups can be upgraded but for our standard models, we use Iron Gear pickups which provide a fantastic authentic tone.
