Sound Tests

The Burl Beast

Video demonstrating the 5 different tones available from each pickup combination with clean and tweed settings on a Roland Cube Amlifier. The "tweed" modelling position of the amplifier starts to break up the sound.

The magnet of the bridge humbucker is reversed to allow inner and outer coils of the humbuckers to be selected with a 5 position superswitch in addition to the normal power of the humbuckers.

And now the same pickup configurations but with increased gain and some distortion..

"Going Home"

Going Home by Mark Knopfler. The guitar is wired to allow the humbuckers to be selected as normal (positions 1,3 and 5) but positions 2 and 4 select the outer and inner coils out of phase.

This short clip illustrates the clear tone produced by combining the outer coils of the humbuckers. The tweed setting of the amplifier wsa used at low gain.
