Our NeoVintage '59LPJ' is based on a 1959 Les Paul Junior Double cut. The body is made from mahogany that was originally purchased in the 1980s from a guitar builder who was working in the 1970s. The pickguard is tortoishell made from a handmade material called torteloid. Poured resins and dyes reproduce authentic vintage style tortoise shell patterns.

The neck is made from mahogany but it has a shallower headstock angle than the originals and the angle is created with a hidden scarf joint. This means that the grain between the neck and headstock is stronger and whilst this doesn't make the neck indestructable, it helps to strengthens the neck. The fretbaord has a 12 inch radius and is made from a dark wood such as Rosewood or, in the case of the guitar show, Wenge. This gives the guitar a bright but rounded sound. The frets are medium tall. The neck has a thin C profile so that it is very playable.

Our NeoVintage '59LPJ' guitar uses high quality hardware made by Gotoh. The bridge can be fully intonated which overcomes one of the problems of the original LPJs which rarely played in tune. This guitar has a sibgle Gibson Vintage Collection dog-eared P90 with volume and tone controls.
